Putting down the alcohol for Dry Feb is a challenge, but it’s a challenge for a great cause. Giving it up for a great cause doesn’t mean it’s easy. So we’ve put together 10 ways to help you limit your alcohol intake. This can help you in preparation for your Dry Feb challenge, or it can help you after Dry Feb if you’d like to keep your alcohol moderation going after the challenge.
1. Find a non-alcoholic alternative that you enjoy
When socializing, opt for non-alcoholic beverages like water, mocktails, or alcohol-free beer or wine.
2. Find alcohol-free activities
Explore hobbies and activities that don't involve alcohol to help reduce the temptation to drink.
3. Measure standard drinks
Use a shot glass to measure and keep track of exactly how much alcohol you’re consuming.
4. Hydrate with water
Use water to quench your thirst.
5. Create mocktails
Make non-alcoholic versions of your favourite cocktails.
6. Set goals
Set alcohol consumption goals, whether it's abstaining completely or reducing your intake to a certain amount per day, week or month.
7. Keep track of your drinks
Keep a record of how many drinks you’re consuming and stick to a limit.
8. Set boundaries
Let friends and family know about your alcohol consumption goals and ask for their support in keeping you accountable.
